يستقطب مركز القطارة للفنون الفنانين وعشاق الفن لاستكشاف مختلف مجالات الإبداع والمشاركة فيها.

وتأسس المركز عام 2011 لدراسة الفنون وممارستها وتطويرها، حيث يحتوي معرضاً يضم إبداعاتٍ فنية لفنانين إماراتيين أو مقيمين في دولة الإمارات. كما يشمل المركز استديو الفن الجاف المخصص لممارسة الموسيقى والحرف اليدوية، واستديو الفن المائي الخاص بدروس الرسم والتلوين، إضافةً إلى استديو الأعمال الفخارية واستديو لفن الخط.

شُيّد مركز القطارة للفنون في موقع بيت بن عاتي الدرمكي المكوّن من برج وبيت سكني مشيد بالطوب الطيني. وصُمم المركز وفق أسلوب العمارة المحلية ليتناغم مع محيطه المليء بالأبنية التراثية الحديثة. ويضم المركز أيضاً معرض القطارة للآثار الذي يُعد معرضاً دائماً للمكتشفات الأثرية.

مدينة العين في الإمارات العربية المتحدة هي موقع مدرج في قائمة اليونيسكو للتراث العالمي، يعود تاريخها إلى أكثر من 4000 عام، وتضم العديد من الواحات الرائعة. كما حظيت واحة العين باهتمام منظمة الأغذية والزراعة للأمم المتحدة بفضل تنوعها البيئي والحيوي وإرثها الثقافي الإماراتي.

وتُعد واحة العين من أبرز المواقع المدرجة في قائمة اليونيسكو للتراث العالمي، تقع في وسط مدينة العين، وتعتمد في ري مزارعها على نظام الري التقليدي بالأفلاج. وتتميز الواحة بأسلوب حياتها التقليدي وثقافتها الغنية التي تعود لآلاف السنين، كما تمتد على مساحة 136 هكتار، وهي أكبر واحة في مدينة العين. ويعتني المزارعون في الواحة بأكثر من 147 ألف شجرة نخيل من أكثر من 100 نوع، إلى جانب المحاصيل المخصصة للأعلاف وأشجار الفواكه، مثل المانجو والبرتقال والموز والتين والعناب (المعروف محلياً بالسدر). كما تُفصل قطع الأراضي الفردية عن بعضها بواسطة جدران حدودية تاريخية قديمة.

إن قلعة الجاهلي هي إحدى أكبر القلاع في الإمارات العربية المتحدة، وتعكس أهمية مدينة العين بالنسبة للعائلة الحاكمة في أبوظبي ودورها في التاريخ الإماراتي.

وبُنيت القلعة المهيبة في أواخر القرن التاسع عشر من قبل الشيخ زايد بن خليفة الأول، الذي حكم بين عامي 1855 و1909، لتشكل رمزاً للقوة ومسكناً صيفياً للعائلة الحاكمة. وتكونت القلعة الأصلية من ساحة محصنة مربعة وبرج دائري مميز مكون من أربعة طوابق.

يقع قصر المويجعي على الجهة الغربية لمدخل العين، وقد لعب دوراً هاماً في تاريخ الإمارات العربية المتحدة، كما يجسد مثالاً ساطعاً عن فن العمارة التي كانت تعتمد على الطوب اللبن في مطلع القرن العشرين.

وبُني القصر في عهد الشيخ زايد بن خليفة الأول، الذي حكم بين عامي 1855 و1909، وعلى يد ابنه الشيخ خليفة بن زايد بن خليفة. وأصبح القصر لاحقاً ديواناً لحكم المغفور له بإذن الله الشيخ زايد بن سلطان آل نهيان، الأب المؤسس لدولة الإمارات، وبيتاً لعائلته، عندما أصبح ممثلاً للحاكم في مدينة العين عام 1946.

ووُلد ابنه البكر، صاحب السمو الشيخ خليفة بن زايد آل نهيان، رحمه الله، في القصر بعد عامين من الانتقال للإقامة فيه، حيث قضى أغلب شبابه متعلماً من والده.

بيت محمد بن خليفة هو معلمٌ تاريخي مدرج ضمن قائمة اليونسكو لمواقع التراث العالمي في العين. ويضم البيت معرضاً دائماً يحتفي بمرحلة التحول في جوانب المجتمع والعمارة إلى الحداثة خلال خمسينيات وستينيات القرن الماضي. ويشكل البيت أيضاً مركزاً مجتمعياً يقيم برنامجاً متنوعاً من الأنشطة والفعاليات، كما أُعيد تصميمه ليحتضن مسرح العين، ومركز رفلكت للفنون الإبداعية، ونوتس كافيه التي تضم مخبزها الخاص.
